The Flash Applications Portfolio

Video Player - XML driven and streaming content

We were asked by a web firm to make an XML driven flash video player. The player would be able to stream video content and links into the flash interface. It would be produced in Actionscript 3 and we would incorporate it into a design that could be easily customised by them. You can view the video player in action on this site.

Speed Test - flash application

We were tasked to create a speed test in flash, it uses PHP coding to test the users internet connection (both download and upload).  It also has the Google maps API integrated into the flash interface. Click here to view the speed test.

Flash Comparison Tool

This flash tool allows any lists of data (driven externally via XML) to be fed into the application. The user can then compare selected information and choose the best option. The application was commissioned by a private client to showcase their business training courses.

Jacket Designer

Stewart and Strauss required an interactive jacket designer. The online application was created in flash and allowed them to add new jackets and colours. It also allows for international measurements and controlled customisation of the jackets. The customer can then print the design and order it. The application sends PHP variables out of flash to a payment system. Click the image below to have a play but please note you can not purchase the jacket you design on this ‘local’ version.

Interactive Flash Map

Putting Edge fun centres can be found all over Canada and America. They had a list of their locations on the web site. We offered them an interactive map that would allow customers to easily identify where the fun centres are. A map that could be updated by the staff (through XML).
Like many of our applications we added extra functionality to this program by allowing Putting Edge the ability to content manage the application. They edit just one file to change the location, name and content of each of their ‘fun centres’. Digital mapping was also provided by us.
We are always keen to start work on technical applications that can improve your customers experience online.

ClockWorkLime - Flash video site with CMS

We re-developed the ClockWorkLime Entertainment site. It involved developing a creative new layout in flash with interactive animations (graphics provided by the client). The site is navigated using a panoramic animation. The sections are then loaded based on what is clicked in this area, all while you listen to music that is streamed into a jukebox.

The client produces entertainment videos and wanted an area (the TV) for displaying their portfolio of work. These videos are streamed in flash and can be updated alongside all the rest of the content on the site through our own content management system (PHP based) .

Car hire booking system and flash site

The Euro Rentals website was created to showcase the fleet of vehicles at this Leicester based company. Visitors to this flash site can book a vehicle for hire through the online booking system. The system takes into account opening times and sends an email to Euro Rentals when a booking has been made, it also backs up all of the bookings on an online database (using MySQL).
The site is designed to allow the client to alter the content and cars. It uses XML (external files) to allow them to change these details.
